📣 1 GEL (0.4 USD) invested in Sustainable Land Management (SLM) in Georgia returns 7.4 GEL (2.75 USD) in benefits❗️Study commissioned by UN Environment Programme and RECC prepared within the Global Environment Facility (GEF) funded project provides valuation of SLM benefits in terms of improved agricultural productivity.

❗️Countries most affected by the climate crisis have demanded compensation for damages. This issue finally became the subject of negotiations at the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and entered the climate policy agenda🤝🏻

📣Up to 40 participants gathered to discuss the harmonisation of foreign aid in accordance with the priorities of the revised National Waste Management Strategy 2016-2030 and Action Plan 2022-2026; ensuring coordination and further development of the existing donor cooperation.

📣“Support MEPA of Georgia in implementation of Law of Georgia on Environmental Liability” - an online webinar was held to present environmental damages calculation methodologies and discuss the secondary legislation improvement suggestions under the new Liability Law.

📣 Relevant stakeholders with 70% of women representation, gathered for a stakeholder workshop to discuss the newly adopted legislation “On Approval of the Technical Regulation on Special Requirements for the Collection and Treatment of Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs)”.

📣 Capacity-building workshops held in priority pilot areas of village pastures in Naniani (Gurjaani municipality), Ganakhleba (Dmanisi municipality) and Sno (Kazbegi municipality) villages introduced the novel methodology of holistic planned grazing to local farmers🌾
