I wish the excitement and chatter over which staff are presenting MOTD could be applied to concern over which staff are working in hospitals next week. Many seem unaware that junior doctors will not be present for 72 consecutive hours. This includes emergency services.

We’ve written to Steve Barclay to confirm next week’s strike is going ahead, after his last-minute letter. Read the full letter from Dr Robert Laurenson Vivek Trivedi #JuniorDoctorsStrike bma.org.uk/bma-media-cent…

James is a junior doctor at the BRI who is on the picket line today after finishing a night shift in intensive care. “I just want us to be paid what we are worth,” he told me.

"We don't have a national health service. We have a national disgrace." Junior doctors who are striking for three days over salary and working conditions give their view on what the government should do in order to retain staff. The strike has led to thousands of cancellations.

The Government has left us with no option but to strike. Today thousands of us went to Whitehall and made it clear: We are not backing down. #JuniorDoctorsStrike

What will be the impact on operating theatres (and elective recovery) if nurses and ODPs end up being paid different amounts for doing identical roles?

Wigglytuff (@nursewigglytuff) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Richard Morse The impact upon theatres and recovery would be profoundly negative, were this to come to pass. However, I hope (and believe) that the nursing profession is introspective, and invested in the welfare of AHPs. I do not think we would accept this amendment to AfC.
