Far simpler to send all newly elected MPs on a week-long course in how our state funds itself, what taxation is actually for, and why bond markets need severely reigning in. Perhaps then, our MPs will recognise the power of the public purse and start pursuing the right polices.

Who is Next ? Four days after announcing over £1 billion in record profits, NEXT closed its only unionised factory in Sri Lanka – firing 1,416 workers via WhatsApp. Workers were fired without consultation, without notice, and in clear violation of NEXT’s agreement with

Amazing how successful neoliberalism was at convincing us that the private sector is the real economy and the public sector merely parasitic. The private sector is completely dependent on the state - to create the currency, infrastructure, legal framework etc that it relies on.

'Sticking points' are when you disagree on the seating plan for a state dinner, not when your close ally is openly committing genocide.

See this e-action on union-busting by Next who just sacked over 1000 staff at their Sri Lanka factory - all done by Whatsapp. secure.waronwant.org/page/174083/ac…

If we want to talk turnouts and votes… Labour took 33.7% on a 59.8% turnout at the general election last year. That’s just 20.15% of the electorate voting Labour. Mr Streeting took 33.4% on a 60.2% turnout. That’s just 20.11% of the Ilford North electorate voting for him.

Steven Boxall Boris D'Burger-Zilla (well, what a year so far) BBC Radio 4 PM Yes. If the EU and the UK cut off all support that would be a significant signal to Israel. But of course the US will still send billions of dollars for Israel to carry on killing, while US citizens have limited healthcare.

Imagine posting this headline after 20 months of genocide A genocide in which "Israeli experts" have been caught lying time and time again to justify their genocide We live in the most dark and upside down world Shaped in no small part by a pathetic, cowardly & inhumane media

🚨 BREAKING: 75% of people in the UK would support a wealth tax of 2% on wealth over £10m. So why is the UK govt pushing through shameful cuts to social security tomorrow instead of taxing the super rich?

Where is the evidence that cutting taxes to companies has resulted in them investing more in their businesses? My understanding is that UK companies invested more of their profits in themselves when corporation tax was at 49% than they have at recent low corporation tax rates.

It is coming back to me - weren't we going to have it in the UK whilst its home in Bayeux was closed for repair and refurbishment? This was announced a good few years ago, so its not (it seems) a new deal or arrangement. Was this the only thing Macron had to announce?

Does EDF take 12.5% of the profits and 12.5% of the risks? Is EDF running it - if so what's their fee? According to the Industrial Strategy the UK Government is funding Sizewell C - now it looks like it is a co-funder?
