What a wonderful opening ceremony to kick off #ECI2024 Plenaries Cecilia Garlanda discussed SARS-CoV-2 complement activation & viral inhibition. Judith Allen provided insights into IL4Ra tissue resident macrophage responses in helminth infections UNSW Medicine & Health Kirby Institute, UNSW

Keynote speaker James Allison discussed CTLA-4 immune checkpoint blockade therapy & the induction of specialized TH1 CD4+ T cell subsets. He discussed future directions of ICI therapy in making "cold tumours" hot again to improve patient survival. 🔥 #ECI2024 bring on day 2 📅
