Thanks Peter Martin Diane Dodds for meeting groups impacted by DOH core grants process. 259 groups applied for a piece of £1.8m. 25 groups successful. No carer groups funded. Some charities will cease altogether due to this loss of funding, others will reduce services.

Great to bump into Danny Donnelly MLA Northern Ireland Assembly Committee for Health today. Joan Relate NI Áine Magee & Naomi MS Society NI had the chance to flag impacts of unsustainable Department of Health grant processes. We emphasised how much C&V sector enables huge HSC savings -unpaid carers alone save £5.8bn annually.

Demand for our services grew 165% in 23/24, and without core funding we are at risk. We were delighted to join a small consortium of charities to meet with Diane Dodds & Peter Martin who were in listening mode & understand that the PFG can't be delivered without the CVS.

This morning, we took a break to have a coffee & catch-up ☕ After the merger in November 2024, Relate NI & Family Mediation NI are working hard on the logistics of a merged charity. It's important that we take time away to come together as a team!
