The last CrossCountry Trains train was heading to Penzance last night, before its final run to Aberdeen (which it did this morning). It is seen passing The Veterans Halt and their Ribbon of Poppies πΈ π πΈ home of the Routes of Remembrance.
Today at Routes of Remembrance HQ not only are our Poppies at the Veterans Halt flowering under the British Army π¬π§ & Lest we forget flags to remember the 110th anniversary of the tragic Quintinshill rail disaster, but a poppy has seen fit to grow on the tracks! #LWF #WWI
#OTD in 1914 the cunardline liner RMS Aquitania undertook her maiden voyage to New York City. She served in both WWI and WWII as a troopship and hospital ship, even though she was designed with a role as a cruiser to mount heavier weapons in wartime. #WWI #WWII
