In Foreign Affairs, I write that a competitive Trump China policy needs buy-in at home, abroad, & from Trump. The stakes are high. The US risks being surpassed by the PRC technologically, dependent on it economically, & defeated militarily. A few thoughts for the way forward:






New article out in International Studies Quarterly with stellar coauthor Rachel (Tecott) Metz. The US uses security assistance to get partner militaries to adopt liberal civ-mil relations, but whether it works depends on partner civilians. Our rec?
