On Saturday, Reno Firefighters were dispatched to a reported call of a confined space rescue at the lower Peavine retention basin. The Reno Fire Department Urban Search and Rescue Team was requested based on the nature of the call.

Last night (10/16/25) Engine 6 responded to a van fire near Longley and Barron.

Early this morning, Reno Firefighters responded to a structure fire near 1200 block of California Ave. The small fire was contained and quickly extinguished, the fire is under investigation. 

Around noon today, Firefighters on Engine 2 extinguished a car fire near 7th and Eureka.

Medic 2 got the opportunity to visit with Reno High School’s Healthcare Club and discuss what a career within the healthcare system is like for first responders.

RFD’s newest Squad has arrived, and is being outfitted by L731 members in preparation to be placed in service to better serve the residents and visitors of Reno, NV.
