🚨PSA: If your information about the Texas House Redistricting process is not coming from Speaker Dustin Burrows Chairman Cody Vasut Chairman Todd Hunter or a member of the committee, you may want to FACT CHECK the information. Cmte: Hillary Hickland Rep. Ryan Guillen Carl Tepper
Governor Greg Abbott endorses Rep. Terri Leo Wilson for Texas House District 23. As a former public-school teacher, Terri understands the importance of school choice and parental empowerment. She’s proven to be a strong, conservative leader in the Texas House.
Brian Harrison The Republican caucus met this morning and agreed on a strategy to help insure we win the court challenge to this plan. This includes giving the Dems some debate time. It is amazing to see us sticking together and working as a team. Brian Harrison is actively undermining us.
Everyone needs to watch TxLege Sen. Senator Adam Hinojosa's 6-minute speech in support of Texas' new congressional maps. He nails it in explaining why DEMs are losing elections and shedding support. "This is a values shift, and no amount of shouting racism is going to change that."
Karnifex Maximus Luke Macias If you want the actual legal analysis. Tex. Const. Article III Section 10 gives the House power to impose penalties for quorum breaking. The House did so in Rule 5, Section 3. Rule 5, Section 3(d) lists out the available penalties: (1) fines, (2) pro rata portion of costs, (3)
Tony McDonald Karnifex Maximus Luke Macias Also, as y’all may recall, I was the one who tried to amend the rules to expressly allow removal of chairmanships/vice chairmanships and loss of seniority in response to quorum breaks all the way back in the 87th. Had the body done what I told them to do, we wouldn’t be in this
HR 128 was just filed by Rep. Cody Vasut to address the necessary changes to the House Rules regarding those who break quorum. The Caucus stands as a united front with Speaker Dustin Burrows in that actions deserve consequences. #txlege

I am told that as a state representative this is the moment where I'm supposed to express my heartfelt condolences and then stand in solidarity with those on the other side of the aisle as we condemn political violence and stand unified as one people. But we aren't "one people"
