What a day! Here are a few of the bills we passed: 💻Consumer Privacy Act to protect online data 👩‍👩‍👧Oregon's first $1000-per-child tax credit 🗳️HJR 16, proposed constitutional amendment to hold politicians accountable 📚Early Literacy Initiative to improve student success #orleg

Oregon is now the first state in the country with a targeted plan to address the educational disparities faced by K-12 Pacific Islander students. Thank you State Representative Hoa Nguyen (she/her) D 48! The bill now heads to the Governor’s desk. #orleg #orpol

We know that Oregon’s cultural diversity is one of our greatest assets. This bill is not only a critical investment in education, but an acknowledgment that we see Pacific Islander students and recognize the assets they bring into our classrooms and communities.

HB 3014 recognizes the flexibility schools need to meet the unforeseen challenges in getting students to school safely and on time. Schools combine resources where they can to ensure students are getting the most out of their education, and that doesn’t stop inside the classroom.

Classified Employees are the front-line experts who understand what the students are going through day to day. As such, should have a voice on state policy boards and commissions alongside other education professionals. Thank you to the support of OSEA and Rep Boomer Wright.

Our office will take a break and will resume communication and correspondence after the 25th. We appreciate everyone’s support and enthusiasm this past legislative session and look forward to continue our constituent and community work in the interim.
