As soon as the pay award was announced we wrote to the Secretary of State demanding negotiations; the DDRB changes have been ignored and the journey to pay restoration well and truly stalled. We've heard nothing. We want to talk but continued silence should inform your vote.

The GMC have demonstrated beyond doubt that they are neither independent nor focused on patient safety They are a failed regulator and The Colleges need to step up and actually do some leading for both doctors and patients

It's hard to overstate what a MAJOR change in policy this is! The NHS Constitution mandates that patients should be based on clinical need. Rationing based on smoking has been played with in the past, but it has always been pushed back on HARD. opendemocracy.net/en/ournhs/why-…

NHS consultants, we have an indicative survey out re pay, SPA, pension and working life restoration soon. The best way to achieve this is a strong vote in the indicative ballot. If we stand together we have *huge* power to drive negotiations.

There’s no ethical discussion to be had It’s the governments responsibility to deliver a health service. No individual doctor can do that

The media love to vilify Doctors - ultimately because many of the British public despise us. They banged pans when we risked our lives during the pandemic. Yet when it comes to T&Cs, our salaries are compared to the UK average 🤦🏻‍♂️ The public will get the NHS they deserve!

Worth saying More people SUPPORT the strikes than oppose it. So public support is still there (although it’s not critical)

A few key points for me here Failing to deliver on last years reforms DDRB late and inadequate Student loans too expensive (yes we’ve realised that) BMA have been very clear all year what constitutes a fair offer Seems justifiable to re-enter dispute

So Labours idea of decent pay for junior doctors is to offer them a Meal Deal. The sheer contempt they have for doctors is staggering.

Zarah Sultana MP (@zarahsultana) 's Twitter Profile Photo

It’s not the BMA “undermining the trade union movement”. It’s a Labour Prime Minister, writing in the Murdoch press, urging junior doctors to break with their union leadership. That’s a direct attack on trade unionism. Solidarity with The BMA and junior doctors on strike.
