"Friends deserve more respect, and they shouldn't always be the last on our list…valuing family and friends was linked to better health and more happiness overall, for older adults, friendships were even more important to health and happiness.” Yes! bbc.com/future/article…

Looking to forward to speaking about Prioritising Wellbeing in the Classroom at ResearchEd in Rome on 27th May. Teaching friends, pop to Rome for half-term, or the weekend. Would love to see you and the line-up is excellent - great PD, delicious pizza and endless gelato!

This week @SouthlandsGBIS, 15 members of staff have shared the creative ways they are supporting their students in coping with change; Y12 students created an assembly with their advice for Y7-10; and Y7 have planned their ideas for Y1-6. What a week of collaboration!

Thank you Positively Present for inspiring one of my 10 year old students to draw his own Positivity Potion in his Healthy Living journal. Our students' journals are a collection of wellbeing strategies that they feel will support them in times of need. This one appealed to many!

It was a pleasure to write this blog for Oxford University Press, 'Embedding Wellbeing in the Classroom'. It explains our approach to whole-school development, as well as practical ideas for embedding wellbeing in the classroom.educationblog.oup.com/international/…

Excellent advice about how to support your children during exams. Gratefully received as a parent of two stressed Y12s. Thank you, Dr Penny Rabiger (She/Her). #examstress #examanxiety

A brilliant thread about the huge benefits of breath control. Definitely one to share with the teens in my sessions who are skeptical it makes a difference!

Really enjoyable presenting in Rome today at the @ResearchedR conference. Great conversations about we can support wellbeing and maintain high academic standards; as well as some brilliant sessions on many other topics.

I found this note from a Year 3 child, left anonymously on my desk after they borrowed our classroom. Gratitude for P4C and wobbly spelling that me smile - what a find at the end of a busy day! #gratitude #P4C #smile

I’m feeling very grateful to have contributed a ‘Tale from the Classroom’ to Adrian Bethune 2nd Edition of ‘Wellbeing in the Primary Classroom’. His first book influenced my practice hugely and I highly recommend his work. What a privilege to play a tiny part in this book. 😊

Great interview with Alex Scott MBE . So many people need to hear the opening words of her book: “…what’s worse than feeling guilty about being sad is putting on a happy face … [and] pretending to yourself that this is a form of strength.” theguardian.com/football/2023/…

I'm thoroughly enjoying teaching an on-line wellbeing course this week to teachers in Catalonia. They're so engaged and enthusiastic, they inspire me! Being able to reflect on each session, and tweak the next one, here with my daughters, is an added bonus. #teachertraining

At the end of my first half-term RIS, Globeducate, it was great to reflect on What Went Well as we work hard to develop our wellbeing programme. Adrian Bethune, thank you, as ever, for the inspiration! romeinternationalschool.it/news/latest-ne… #wellbeinginschools #internationaleducation
