Glioblastoma is a grade 4 brain tumour, meaning that it grows and spreads quickly, and is difficult to treat. This #TeamBrainTuesday, we want to celebrate the work being done by Rhiannon Barrow & her supervisor Lucy Stead at University of Leeds.

Me and Freya Leif are doing the Tough Mudder 10 mile obstacle course on July 31st to raise money for Brain Research UK! If you are able to donate we would really appreciate it! justgiving.com/fundraising/r-…

One of our inspiring fund recipients Rhiannon Barrow is taking on Tough Mudder this weekend to raise money for Brain Research UK. Good luck Rhiannon - if anyone would like to support her, you can find her Just Giving page here justgiving.com/fundraising/r-…

Covered in bruises after Tough Mudder but worth it to raise over £1100 for Brain Research UK! Thank you so much to everyone who donated!

The Glioma Genomics Research Group group (& families) finally all got together (minus Muna, sadly). It was GREAT to be able to thank these hard-working researchers for their commitment over the past 18m+ Rhiannon Barrow Martina Finetti Georgette Tanner @nazahmed91 @Chalmazers Fabio Marcuccio😍

Just a few of Glioma Genomics Research Group at the Brain Tumour Northwest retreat; ready for day 2 when we have 3 presentation slots, including Georgette Tanner and Rhiannon Barrow, to present work funded by Brain Research UK Yorkshire's Brain Tumour Charity UK Research and Innovation IBIN.

#BrainTumourAwarenessMonth Rhiannon Barrow was awarded a Brain Research UK PhD studentship in 2018 to pursue research into glioblastoma, GBM, the most common primary brain cancer in adults. Only a quarter of patients diagnosed with GBM survive more than a year from diagnosis.

Our very own Rhiannon Barrow presenting her Brain Research UK funded work on GABA signaling modulators as potential stratified therapeutics for GBM at #BNOS2022. BNOS LIMRLeeds @LeedsCancerRes

We have 3 last-minute places available for our Yorkshire Brain Tumour Symposium tomorrow! Would you like to learn more about the researchers leading the way to find new treatments in our region? Email [email protected] to book a free place

❗️Another week, another PhD student has come to my office in tears as they can’t afford to live in London on £18k. And this is before the price cap increase. UK Research and Innovation this time - can I ask what you are doing to support the next-generation so there is a next-generation?! Pls RT

State-of-the-art experimental models need state-of-the-art analysis techniques. Out today in JBM: 'SpheroidAnalyseR—an online platform for analyzing data from 3D spheroids or organoids grown in 96-well plates' Glioma Genomics Research Group Rhiannon Barrow Lucy Stead polscientific.com/jbm/index.php/…

I spoke about our research at a Yorkshire's Brain Tumour Charity event in 2019. Afterwards, a GBM patient Joe wilkinson, who could code but knew no biology, asked if he could help. He worked with us until he passed in May 2020. Today we published his & Rhiannon Barrow's work, which we use daily.

Published today🥳: Brain Research UK funded work by Rhiannon Barrow & the late Joe wilkinson. Helped by Mark Dunning via a NorthernBUG collaboration, Dr Anke Richardson & Nolene Callaghan via RCatLeeds. An analysis method for 3D models, just part of the gamut for GlioModel & Leeds Centre for Disease Models

Rhiannon Barrow wrote a report, About experiments focused on TauT When asked to re-hash it, She totally smashed it, So now she's a Dr - of course! Our amazing Brain Research UK funded PhD student Rhiannon Barrow has passed her viva with flying colours

It was a real honour to watch Rhiannon Barrow graduate yesterday. It wasn't always easy (trying to cure brain cancer is tough, & through COVID to boot!) but she worked hard & showed great problem-solving ability & resilience. A PhD well earned. Congratulations Dr Barrow 👏 🙌👩🎓
