Hoylake’s foreshore, an SAC, holds 2% of the UK’s young sand dunes. Yet, Natural England approved 1.5ha of clearance, endangering globally rare wildlife. I’ve instructed Freeths to challenge this & am raising £1,900 in legal fees. Any support helps!🌱❤️ gofund.me/2669579c

The Dartington Forest Garden is threatened with destruction by landlords the Dartington Trust. It took >30 years to grow, and is a wonderful example of a radically different approach to food & fibre production. Please sign the petition, and share. agroforestry.co.uk/save-dartingto…

No one talks about the garbage island in the Pacific. But it’s larger than France, Germany, and Spain combined. And it’s leaking toxic chemicals into the fish you eat. Here’s what you were never told about the Great Pacific Garbage Patch:

People are paving over their valuable garden spaces at an alarming rate, not realising, that the desertification of our mainly urban areas is destroying nature and biodiversity on our own doorstep. When are we going to realise, that our gardens count? 😏😢

There is nothing left alive in this wood. This is supposed to be blanket bog one of our most biodverse habitats. The little biodiversity left on the ground was wiped out along with the trees in the fire. Restoration is badly needed. Not more crap forestry

"Its legacy, if this terrible bill is approved, will be a grimmer, greyer, unhappier nation" – Devastating, clear-sighted assessment of Labour's disastrous planning and infrastructure bill by George Monbiot theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

A 63% decline in flying insects in just 3 years. WE CANNOT SURVIVE WITHOUT INSECTS. A sane society would be doing EVERYTHING in its power to reverse our unprecedented biodiversity loss. Instead we’re led by growth-obsessed psychopaths intent on hastening it.

“This crisis was avoidable. But thanks to corporate greed & regulatory complacency, our reservoirs are running dry & our rivers are polluted with sewage.” Drink shit or go thirsty - sums up our choices within this rigged, suicidal system.

A few hastily taken pictures of Heath spotted orchid (dactylorhiza maculata) and a rather handsome Wall pennywort (umbilicus rupestris) whilst out for a ramble around Breakwater national park in Holyhead.

Labour promised to restore nature. Instead, their Planning Bill contains a licence to destroy it. We offered solutions. We’re done waiting. Part 3 of the Bill would gut the laws protecting our most precious habitats & species. Without significant change, it must be scrapped.

We should supply the Native Americans with weapons, bombs, and tanks so that they can finally take their country back from the invaders.

A once-common and abundant plant of grasslands, Dyer’s greenweed (Genista tinctoria) needs help. To help restore populations of this functionally important & imperilled beastie, I’ve put a guide together on its propagation, reintroduction and management: nwrpi.weebly.com/dyers-greenwee…
