Antarctica's massive Thwaites Glacier is melting due to climate change. A team supported by NSF and Natural Environment Research Council are studying all aspects of the glacier to predict how its collapse could affect the world's coastlines. #EarthDay2021 bit.ly/3aw8dHv

Congrats intramural soccer team “The Mighty Mitos” ('cause...,mitochondria) who are 4 and 0 so far this season! Composed of BME PhDs, friends & partners, they're 1 of several intramural sports teams organized by the Cornell BMES to have fun & build community! Next game 10/13 at 7pm!

Excited to share a fun project in the SchafferNishimuraLab, a VR headset for mouse neuroscience/behavior! Check out Hongyu_Chang's SfN poster on Tuesday, 4pm! #SfN22 #SfN2022

Excited to announce the first mini-VR fully immersive headset for mice. Wanna know how the VR system tricks the mouse? Go check our poster for SFN Society for Neuroscience (SfN) #SfN22 #SfN2022 .With Matt Isaacson , I will present our work from Ellwood lab Neurobio & Behavior and SchafferNishimuraLab . Info attached below

The SN lab is at #SfN22! If you are interested in #optics and #brain check out our posters in row E Rick Zirkel @NancyRuizU Lianne Trigiani Laura Berkowitz Nicole Chernavsky Austin Bunce Society for Neuroscience (SfN)

Virtual reality goggles for mice, and more! It’s been great being able to contribute to this exciting project. Check out our preprint below from Hongyu_Chang and Matt Isaacson !

Here Cornell BME Cornell Engineering , we are serious about many things, but we also have fun. Last week our graduate chapter of the Cornell BMES Biomedical Engineering Society held a fall cornhole tournament! Winners (again) Rick Zirkel and Ruben Trujillo received a handsome plaque.

Chat with the lab about #psilocybin research if you are at Lake Conferences #LakeConference 🏔️🧠 Clara Liao on 5-HT2AR Pasha Davoudian on GABAergic neurons Rick Zirkel on neurovascular coupling (collab with SchafferNishimuraLab)

Last day of an excellent conference in the idyllic Thun, Switzerland! Great meeting so many new people and honored to present my work in the Alex Kwan 關進晞 lab amongst this impressive lineup of speakers!! Learned a lot from an impressive group of scientists at the recent Lake Conferences in Thun, Switzerland. Fantastic views and exciting conversations presenting my collaborative project with the Alex Kwan 關進晞 Lab! Cornell BME SchafferNishimuraLab

Can whole-brain imaging of cellular c-Fos signals be used for #psychedelics drug discovery? This was a project led by Farid Aboharb and Pasha Davoudian, where they tested a panel of drugs and developed a machine learning pipeline to classify. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Our paper on MouseGoggles - an open-source mini VR headset for mice - just came out! Really excited about finally integrating eye-tracking into the headset. Nice working with you Hongyu_Chang! nature.com/articles/s4159… github.com/sn-lab/MouseGo…

.Cornell BME doctoral candidate Rick Zirkel studies how psychedelic drugs affect neurovascular coupling--the relationship between brain activity and blood flow. Read his student spotlight: gradschool.cornell.edu/spotlights/stu… Cornell Engineering
