NEW TREATMENT APPROVED FOR SICKLE CELL! We are delighted that NICE has today approved the groundbreaking gene therapy, Exa-cel, or Casgevy, for use through the NHS in people living with sickle cell disorder. Our CEO John James OBE comments here.

If you are or know of a person with sickle cell in the UK, please be aware that gene therapy exa-cel which is 96.6% effective has been approved for NHS use. The target is people with severe symptoms, suitable for a stem cell transplant but without a donor.
