There is no plan here for addressing the significant health inequalities experienced by people with learning disabilities. Preventable deaths? Lower life expectancy? Poorer health outcomes? Nothing to address the 2000+ people who continue to be detained in secure hospitals.

I'm a signatory because the support my sister Raana had at school helped lay the foundation for her future as an adult. This govt is threatening children and young people's right to an education and - with benefits at risk - the support this group would rely on as adults.

Interested to see what part of the EHCP process Ministers may think we don’t need - is it where: - we identify all the child’s special educational needs? - we specify the provision reasonably required to meet those needs? - the child gets the right to attend a suitable school?

“Huge swathes” of severely disabled people will be hit by the upcoming Universal Credit cuts, contrary to government claims they will be protected. My exclusive in tomorrow’s Guardian: theguardian.com/society/2025/j…

🚨PLEASE SHARE WIDELY🚨 Today, MPs will vote on cutting £3,000 a year from 750,000 low-income sick and disabled people deemed too ill to work. That’s a £2 BILLION cut. This has had hardly any media coverage. And the Government snuck out the Impact Assessment only last night.

MPs and much of the media have spun a false narrative about tonight’s Universal Credit vote. The PIP pause has created the myth the government has fully u-turned on its disability cuts. But £2 billion is about to be pulled from the sickest and poorest people in the country.

Labour MPs have voted to impose £2 billion-a-year cuts on disabled people who cannot work, despite a last-minute intervention by UN disability rights experts, and repeated warnings that the bill will cost lives. #BinUCBill #DWP disabilitynewsservice.com/government-ign…

This abuse has been going on for years Wes Streeting. All of your predecessors in the Tory government promised to fix it and didn’t. Millions of pounds of taxpayers’ money were spent on reviews and reports that changed nothing. What are you going to do? For the record, taking

ITV News Here’s a forensic look at how all recent governments have spectacularly and unforgivably failed to make any progress on this awful human rights abuse issue: reignitingdebate.blogs.bristol.ac.uk/transforming-c…

Here’s a thought Wes Streeting. The last government set up a Building the Right Support Delivery Board made up of representatives from the involved government departments. There was a separate Advisory Group made up of people with lived experience. Why not set up a BTS Delivery

Perhaps EHRC could now pursue their pre action letter against the Secretary of State from 2020. In the five years since they suspended their legal action, nothing has changed. If anything, things have got worse, Wes Streeting ITV News. equalityhumanrights.com/health-secreta…
