Great night at TheEnvironForum awards. Congrats to all fellow nominees, and a big thank you to Rob Gandola for presenting us with our award and giving us lots of advice on the nite. We are so proud of all our volunteers and all the hard work they put into our green space 💚🌱🥰


Well done to Mia Gandola who is presenting her study "Is manual removal effective as a method of invasive species control in amphibians?" at the BT Young Scientist exhibition this week. Mia's study includes work she carried out in Galway with HSI for UCD Science & Galway County Council 🐸


Another Chinese mitten crab found in the cheekpoint area, Waterford. This small female has 1000s of eggs typically released at the end of spring early summer. Please report any sightings and get in contact Biodiversity Ireland. This is a high impact invasive alien species. UCD Science

Our Zoology students instructed by The HSI swabbing Alpine Newts for Chytrid fungus. Surveys in protected bogs indicate high density of Alpine Newts. Please report any sightings to Biodiversity Ireland National Parks and Wildlife Service Sch. Biol. & Env. Sc UCD Science
