See NYTimes on positive incentives in ranked choice voting elections in New York. “[RCV] shaped the competition from the beginning. It rewards a campaign style that played to Mr. Mamdani’s strengths: ever-present, on-the-street, nonstop voter engagement.” nytimes.com/2025/06/26/nyr…

18-24 year olds were the LARGEST group in the NYC Mayoral Primary, followed by 25-29 year olds, followed by 30-34 year olds This rarely happens if ever

Most of you already know this, but I’ve seen this asked a lot this past week. The NYC mayoral general election will *not* use ranked choice voting. It’s first-past-the-post. A plurality wins. Only party primaries and special elections use RCV. Don’t ask me why, it’s dumb.

Look forward to seeing these tallies. Other major cities run their 1st ranked choice voting tallies on election night, and 79% of RCV jurisdictions release results within 24 hours. Look forward to NYC developing procedures to do so as well - more sunshine is helpful for everyone.

Very much look forward to the results of this new survey being released on how voters engaged with ranked choice voting in New York City. readme.readmedia.com/Voting-Experts…

Important findings on voters & last week's ranked choice voting primary in New York City: * 96% said filling out their RCV ballot was simple (including at least 94% of every racial group) * 76% said they want to keep or expand RCV in NYC * 82% ranked 2+ candidates for mayor

I've shared this The New York Times link to a strong story on "New Yorkers Embraced Ranked-Choice Voting....Here are five takeaways from New York City’s second experience with ranked choice voting" nytimes.com/2025/07/01/nyr…

Heard of Ranked Choice Voting but not sure how it works? We think it would be good for Michigan Elections because... ✅ It’s straightforward. ✅ It’s nonpartisan. ✅ It gives voters more voice & more choice. Log in to our free online “RCV 101” sessions — get information, ask

Check out what Washington Post Opinions has to say about Initiative 83: "The D.C. Council still has time to fund implementation of [Initiative 83]. If it fails to do so, it will tarnish itself and leave D.C. residents worse off." washingtonpost.com/opinions/2025/…
