So, I’ve been waiting on receiving an appointment off the back of a GP referral which went off in July 2022. Appointment letter just turned up for an appointment in June 2023. This is the new norm for our NHS and “we” aren’t doing nearly enough to fix this. #NHSCrisis

Crazy how much basic exercise such as an hours walk makes my blood sugar plummet. Left the house a little high 10.5 and got back reading 3.5. The joys of life with #type1diabetes. Also shows that getting up from your desk and being active really is good for you. Who knew!

Rough start to the day today, 1:30am hypo and way too much food consumed during the hypo munchies which had me running high as a kite for the rest of the night, and now I feel like I have a hangover. Didn’t even get the fun of drinking for it. #LivingWithType1

Ah the joys of hitting 40! I'm not at the age Type 1 diabetics get put on statins to reduce our risk of strokes and heart attacks. Hadn't realised I had double the risk vs a non-diabetic. Really cheers you up when you get told this. #Type1Life

I find it crazy that after reporting the state of this footpath in St. Albans to Hertfordshire County Council it’s deemed that it doesn’t need dealing with right now. Anyone with reduce mobility is likely to get injured trying to walk through this.

In the last few days I’ve come to the conclusion that we no longer teach children how to cross the road. Unless the new code is noise cancelling headphones, staring at phone and just walk out regardless of traffic. Terrifying near misses.

Drivers license renewal time and the most stupid question has to be 1.6. Which Type 1 has only ever had one hypo in 12 months, clearly they have no idea of what life’s like. What’s crazy is that I’m well controlled too. 🤦🏼‍♂️🙈

Today is one of those days to forget. 🤦🏼‍♂️ Also a good lesson in trying to be helpful without having the full context, something I already knew but my tired fried brain clearly forgot.
