Bits found whilst Master CG was windsurfing in Torside Reservoir. A pair of 17th century sherds (Slipware & Nottingham Stoneware) & a stone roof tile - probably from the demolished post-medieval Torside Farm. Also, glacial erratic pebbles left over from the last Ice Age. #glossop

Sherds found on Old Lane, Simmondley. Some fairly standard bits, but also a nice chunky lip to a large cider flagon or chemical carboy. I love this track... A medieval one preserved in situ. #Glossop #archaeology #pottery #mudlarking

A mason's mark! On a lump of masonry originally from Wood's Mill, in the place where the mill once stood - now Glossop Brook View. Probably post-1842 in date, though possibly earlier... It was hidden until demolition c.2015. Who was 'B' I wonder.
