Marc Garneau was my colleague and an inspiration to us all. We shared an office when we were members of the first Canadian Astronaut Team. His legacy as Canada’s first astronaut in space paved the way for the international astronauts who followed. My thoughts are with his family.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Jane Goodall. She was a unique and powerful voice in her research, and a tireless champion of the environment. Her wisdom and insight will be missed.
