What a fun time at the Allen FFA Ag Barn yesterday with a ribbon cutting, auction, and teacher and student showmanship presentations. Thanks to AHS junior Kenzie Hollingsworth for helping me show Oscar the Pig! Even with Kenzie’s great guidance, Oscar was still a wild one.

Honored to attend the swearing-in ceremony for Steve Dye, the new City of Allen Chief of Police. A packed house celebrated Chief Dye and his sweet family, including his two Allen HS alum daughters. I look forward to future collaboration in keeping our school communities safe!

Our students are so talented! From the actors on stage, musicians in the pit, and theater tech students working behind the scenes, these kiddos hosted a SPECTACULAR performance of Willy Wonka. Months of hard work led up to this week’s performances - and they nailed it!

Thank you to the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Texas and @USAttyDiggs for presenting to all 9-12 graders in Allen ISD today about the dangers of fentanyl poisoning. This was an impactful message that all students across the nation need to hear and understand.

The eclipse was amazing! Glad I got to spend this once-in-a-lifetime-in-Allen opportunity with kiddos at Vaughan Elementary. It was so fun to hear how excited they became when the totality occurred and the sky darkened!

Amazing turnout at the Senior Scholarship Banquet this evening, hosted by the Foundation For Allen Schools. Thank you to everyone who helped fund a scholarship to support this amazing group of seniors!

Kindergarten Signing Day was a hit! What an awesome opportunity to celebrate the young kiddos who will soon move on from Anderson Early Childhood School to an Allen ISD elementary school. Thanks to the Anderson team for helping build an educational foundation.

We may have started a new tradition in Allen ISD. The Inclusion & Diversity Committee hosted Field Day for EveryONE this week, featuring games for children of all abilities and a chance for families to play together. Thanks to all our volunteers and Region 10 ESC for the support.

Yum! The Allen High School Culinary Arts program hosted a Spring Cookout today and served up delicious pork belly burnt ends, grilled chicken, pinto beans, macaroni salad, and the best banana pudding you’ve ever had. Thanks for the great lunch!

Thank you, City of Allen, for honoring our Allen ISD students at the City Council meeting last night. It was wonderful to see recognition for two student groups: Teen Court and the cheerleading squad!

The AllenPTA Communications Book Fair is underway! Our community donated over 28,000 books for this PTA event. The proceeds will fund teacher grants and support our campus PTAs. Be sure to stop by the Service Center this weekend and find some great and affordable books for your family!
