Exciting times in 1st grade with the study of birds through EL Education! #buildingknowledge#vibrantexperiences

Today was a great day to be a Peacock and a future Viking! Some of RCSHS’s Viking Football players came to show our 3-5 students some drills and practice with them and to say my Peacock friends had fun is most definitely an understatement! They LOVED it!

💜 Deeper Learning across grade levels! The 3rd grade shared their experience through PBL of studying habitats with our kindergarten kiddos!

🦚 Ms. Bigelow did a wonderful job “jump starting” her math lesson with questions related to what do they notice and wonder. Students began discussing with their purposeful partners, using their success criteria to guide the direction of the learning! Way to go!

🦚 Our kiddos were blessed with the opportunity to visit several businesses in Morehead in their quest to learn about goods and services. Our students were welcomed at Stockyard Bank, Kroger, I-Style, Big-4 Lumber, and ended their day at Fazolis! #VibrantLearningExperiences

🦅 You ask any kiddo in 1st grade, “What are you learning?” They are going to say BIRDS! The implementation of EL Education has provided our kiddos with lessons and activities that build their knowledge in science while improving their literacy skills!

🤩 Our 5th grade team is on 🔥 with building Math Communities in their classrooms! These students consistently understand the importance of using math vocabulary when explaining their answers. The teachers have created a safe atmosphere that embraces risk taking.

It has been a privilege to work with the staff in our Personalized PLC group focused on Progress Monitoring and Effective Feedback. Our group is excited to share their growth during our Exhibition of Learning in April! #PersonalizingProfessionalDevelopment#GrowthMindset

🦚 Rodburn Elementary would like to CONGRATULATE our RC elementary track team for a GREAT showing at the STATE meet this weekend. A BIG SHOUT to the girls team that placed 🥈! Way to go kiddos!

A community partner, Rowan Veterinary Clinic, shared Aubrey Derrickson with us! She answered questions, brought hands-on materials and intrigued minds as she prepared students for their next step in their PBL journey as she answered questions about feral horses.

🦚 Another GREAT day of celebrating reading at Rodburn Elementary! Reading is such an invaluable tool in achieving a successful life! We appreciate the RCSHS cheerleaders helping us emphasize that. We are blessed that so many of our athletes in the district stand as leaders.

In 2nd grade our kiddos are busy exploring pollinators through EL Education. They are learning to create scientific drawings with captions of different pollinators and tied it into learning to research in order to find pictures of our pollinators to draw! 🐝 🌸

🦚 It is inspiring to see many of our Peacock leaders showcasing the work they have been doing in deeper learning facilitated through the instructional practice of PBL! Way to go!
