What remarkable testimony by Diane Foley, walking her own Via Crucis & breathing new meaning into each station. How powerful (& sadly rare) too to hear a woman’s voice in St Peter’s, as a humble @pontifex listens to a homily he knows he couldn’t have written in a month of Sundays

So sad to hear about the passing this morning of Fr Dermod McCarthy, my predecessor as Head of Religious Programmes at RTÉ. A terrific filmmaker, he was part of the Radharc team & created Would You Believe, but he was also a great priest & pastor, who will be much missed. RIP.
