Pet hate: former OFSTED folks who haven’t taught for a long time (or sometimes not at all) making divine ‘do this’ or ‘don’t do this’ proclamations on teaching and learning matters. Without a semblance of doubt. ‘We know best’.

Tom Rogers Esmeralda Salgado Dean Boddington Good listen 👍🏻. I get the sentiment and why people have “liked” the video so much. It’s seems like positive message and causes no harm. But I think it can appear slightly desperate to be liked. And dare I say - a bit cringe. I’d steer clear of physical contact with kids. 1/2

Tom Rogers Esmeralda Salgado Dean Boddington You can demonstrate compassion for them through your actions and words. And if likeability is improtant to you, then you can do this via them same means with a bit of humour thrown in. 2/2

"Relationships are everything" they say, but what exactly are they? I explored this with Esmeralda Salgado and Dean Boddington on Monday teacherstalkradio.podbean.com/e/high-fives-h…

As assaults and abuse has risen, so has the pressure on schools to not suspend or exclude. UK schools need to be given absolute backing to get tough on this. Societal behaviour norms are being gradually eroded in the name of endless reasoning and unlimited support for any and all

Sciantific (@norchcity) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Another day, another load of teachers on here being demonised for saying students in schools have to take some responsibility for their behaviour. And as usual, it’s people who don’t work in schools telling teachers they’re wrong.

Tom Rogers Social contract between parents & schools broken in many areas resulting in school leaders scared of a social media campaign or endless cycle of FOI/SARs. Vexatious parents emboldened by permissive response to their unreasonable behaviour & finding like minded renta-mobs online
