❗️An incredible interesting talk on predicting #TCR #epitope interactions to improve personalized medicine and diagnostics by Pieter Meysman. 🔍Shedding light on the current problems with negative data bias and unseen epitope prediction. #ABLS24 #Bioinformatics

Great explanation by Amelie Stein on why we use stability predictions and evolutionary sequence analysis to identify pathogenic variants. Her lab performs high-throughput assays on protein variants to develop and improve such prediction models for variant consequences. #ABLS24

The last for today at #ABLS24 but definitely not the least! 🔍Sara Mostafavi takes us along on her journey into contrastive deep learning models to predict the link between sequence variation and gene expression, necessary for interpreting personal genomes. 🧬

🎉The first talk of the second day of #ABLS24 was already a success! Ahmed Mahfouz shared his impressive work on using #Bioinformatics approaches such as Hierarchical Progressive Learning and protein embeddings to learn cell identities across single cell datasets.

This was a very interesting talk by Shila Ghazanfar on leveraging mosaic integration to combine different data features and optimize insights from single cell and spatial omics across datasets. #ABLS24

Another great talk, this time by Theodore Alexandrov. He explains how we can detect and interpret metabolic cell states using spatial and single cell metabolomics by combining mass spectrometry and machine learning methods. #ABLS24

Another super interesting talk during #ABLS24. Understanding brain cancer is no easy feat. Omer Ali Bayraktar focuses on identifying cellular trajectories and transcriptional programs to understand the spatial and cellular architecture of glioblastoma.

Unlocking the mysteries of protein-ligand complexes is important for disease understanding and treatment, as well as improving drug discovery. That is why Janani Durairaj (Jay) dedicated her insightful talk to describing current methods and innovations used to solve this problem. #ABLS24
