Well done to our postdoc Monica (Wenying) Lu reporting novel findings of adipose tissue deposition in IPF lungs and its association with respiratory lung function parameters. Adipose tissue deposition was independent of BMI suggesting other mechanisms at play. tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10…

Sharing some insights in the ATS Blue Journal from our recent work on vascular / arterial pruning in smokers, and patients with early COPD. Similar pathology was evident in asthma-COPD overlap patients. EndMT seems central to destructive vascular pathology. atsjournals.org/doi/abs/10.116…
