Get this wrong now and Nigel Walker’s prediction of the damage caused by removal of the 60 cap rule will come true. Losing good young players to other leagues will make it impossible for the regions to recover even after the financial burdens dumped on them by the WRU are history

Scarlets chairman Simon Muderack says a legal document aimed at settling Welsh rugby's financial future has yet to reach him or his counterparts at Ospreys, Dragons and Cardiff. #BBCRugby

Warburton away with the fairies on this. Simplistic and rather silly. I get his loyalty to a WRU that looked after him uniquely well but that’s because Team Wales needed him. Shame the WRU didn’t respect and support Welsh rugby as well as it did Sam. Now a time for realism.

Nigel offloading WRU failures on the regions. Nigel who hasn’t delivered all the documents the regions need before they can contract players. Nigel conning players into thinking their employers are letting them down. Same old WRU, always bullying. Nice try.

Spent many hours negotiating the first regional plan with David. We agreed the need but only sometimes the outcome. That’s life. What David had over the Lewis Philips era was his commitment to find the best solution for Welsh rugby. His 2014 manifesto is still worth a read.

Time to remember Peter’s role as one of the heroes across the 4 clubs who massaged and funded Welsh rugby into the professional age. Faced with a WRU too often addicted to indifference and bullying they kept Welsh rugby alive. Our existence as a top rugby nation is their legacy.

And then there were eight 🏉 From Cape Town to La Rochelle, we covered six pulsating Heineken Investec Champions Cup ties over the weekend, which saw the quarter finalists decided. With four mouthwatering matches coming up, which is your pick of the round? 🤔 #HeinekenChampionsCup

It's a tough one for Cymru in that I still think Ioan Cunningham is a good coach and could've turned things around with this side, but he clearly doesn't come out from this contracts debacle well and a fresh start is needed. That has to include Nigel Walker's departure too.

The WRU have now officially confirmed Ioan Cunningham has left his position as 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 women's head coach. Press release makes no mention of Nigel Walker. Review into contracting process ongoing. Hard to escape the feeling Cunningham, who is a great guy, is being made a scapegoat...

This is a terrible look following the last terrible look involving contracting women players. To scapegoat the coach rather than a senior manager who had responsibility for the negotiations lacks integrity. I had high hopes for the new Board and CEO. That was sorely misplaced.

For years the WRU has blamed others for its failures and made it clear that accountability is for little people. Whether you lose one game or 10 there is a lack of self awareness here that is disturbing and should disqualify people from office.

The WRU describes itself as data-driven. Depending on data in business decisions is to rely on the past but data is rarely a predictor of the future. Data-driven decisions are reassuringly easy to defend but are often indicators of a lack of management understanding and courage
