In addition to *fold, there are lots of structure➡️sequence models out there for "inverse folding". Gina El Nesr and I tried to collect them here: github.com/duerrsimon/fol… Let us know if we missed any!

Stories like these are so valuable. There will always be a guy who says “Women just don’t want to go into those careers. Maybe people have different preferences?”, but when you see the reality, it’s instantly clear how far from a free choice/preference the decision actually is.

Alexy Silakov from Penn State Chemistry just gave a great talk here on oxygen-insensitive hydrogenases. I think these are a great target for protein design!

What a great time at the first in-person Gibbs conference since 2019. Super interesting biophysics in a beautiful setting. (I especially enjoyed the campfire s’mores.) Thanks to Aaron L. Lucius, James Horn and all the other organizers!

Anne-Frances Miller from UKY Chemistry came to @CCNY_Science on Monday to talk to our lab about electron bifurcation in flavin enzymes. Really cool stuff that's going to be important moving forward in enzyme design for renewable energy.

Thanks Nature Chemical Biology for highlighting our recent work on elastin condensates! nature.com/articles/s4158… @alfredovidal_94 Ronald Koder
