Our Mangrove Symposium welcomed 75 of the brightest minds in mangrove ecology including Drs. Ariel Lugo and Robert Twilley, 2 "founding fathers" of Rookery Bay mangrove research. Ecosystem services, trends/tipping points, adaptive management & restoration ecology were discussed.

Reserve staff recently snagged this 12-foot long, 75-pound Burmese python along Shell Island Road. RB's research partners at SWFL CISMA are compiling data from this individual and many others to better understand how to manage for this species in Florida. bit.ly/2POMQ6L
