I put together a short list of novels featuring women who don't do what they're supposed to do: lithub.com/ahead-of-their…

Bought a bouquet of 🌻 to brighten up a dull apartment. Neighbour saw me coming in and said "Flowers are a waste of money, they just die." I said "So do people but we still have kids." Not sure neighbour will be speaking to me again. I'm fine with that, it's London.

There are many things I want to say to Kemi Badenoch following her speech today, but she's not listening. It's important though that disabled people do engage with those who are, and who want to understand the reality of being disabled and trying to live an ordinary life.

I beg of the blue ticks still in my mentions to understand 1 in 4 people having a disability is *not* the same thing as 1 in 4 people being on disability benefits. This is not hard, lads! Watch literally anything other than GB News! Google for 45 seconds!

“When the political and media class wish to leave disabled people hungry and dirty, the disabled community must explain why we should be allowed to eat and be clean.” Today’s col. reflects on a tough month and what it all means for disability in the U.K. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

I am loath to criticise my former BBC colleagues and I’m aware they weren’t in on the story. But the idea of a TV presenter losing his job being the top story on the website as opposed to Parliament being kept in the dark for two years about the Afghan data leak is risible.

A stunning and shameful PMQs. Parliament has been denied its right to scrutinise the government for two years via a constitutionally unprecedented superinjunction. Huge amounts of public money has been spent in secret. 100,000 Afghans put in danger. Did any backbench MP get up

A strong leader wins arguments through the power of persuasion and a convincing policy agenda… not through withdrawing the whip having failed to persuade amidst a policy shambles.

Wait. Didn't Stephen Kinnock claim again and again that the government was "neutral" on #assistedsuicide /#assisteddying? Now it has been declared one of "the Governent's major priorities". Did he mislead Parliament?

Netanyahu has overseen slaughter in Gaza, the decimation of the reputation of Israel and the radicalisation of a new generation of terrorists. I hope more pro Israel voices will see what a disaster he has been not just for Israel but the wider world thetimes.com/article/9f7308…

I feel for anyone watching #theopenportrush and thinking of taking a trip there as the weather is beautiful. I know that area well and that's not normal weather! Do visit though, scenery is spectacular and the people lovely. Take an anorak though!

I don't wish any harm to that little sausage dog on all the ads between the cricket, but let's just say if I never saw it again I'd be a much happier person.

While a lasting resolution to the crisis in Gaza must involve a return of all hostages and a cessation of Israel’s military operations, these articles underscore the immediate need for action to be taken to prevent the travesty of innocent people dying of preventable starvation.

When rightwingers make strident calls to 'defund the RNLI', remember that the RNLI doesn't get any state funding. It's supported entirely by voluntary donations.
