Doctors are being paid 22% less in real terms than they were in 2008. In England, fully qualified doctors are saving lives for £17.56/hr. They’re asking for just £22.67/hr - the rate their work deserves. That’s not a pay rise. That’s pay restoration. Doctors, send your ballot

POST YOUTR BALLOT. Even if it arrives late. Even if the postbox is far away. Even if you are post-nights, pre- nights, on-call, or on annual leave. It's worth it to fight for better. #DoctorsVoteYes

Resident doctors in England, if your ballot’s still sitting at home, please post it today by special delivery. Miss the deadline and your vote won’t count. That’s exactly what your government is hoping for. Don’t hand them a win. #DoctorsStrike #PayRestoration

1000 new places will not fix the training bottlenecks. UK graduate prioritisation with protections for current IMGs is a start. But only if it applies now. Without any timeline, this is just lip service. Disappointing indeed. We expect Wes Streeting and his team to do better

DoctorsVote (@doctorsvoteuk) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Your voice, amplified by DoctorsVote has secured UK Graduate Prioritisation and proteced NHS IMGs. 20,000 doctors locked out of training this year, and only 1000 new jobs over three years. The Government needs to do more, the fight must go on. Return your ballot today!

Name one other profession that gets paid less than their assistants. That is how far doctor pay has eroded A new doctor starting on £17.6/hr, instead being paid £23/hr is not unreasonable What is unreasonable is promising a journey and stopping at the first lay-by

This is absolutely unacceptable. You do NOT have a legal responsibility to disclose whether you are striking. Trusts will attempt to deceive or compell you to tell them. If they do, let a BMA rep know.

This is outrageous Partha S Kar 🇮🇳🇬🇧🏏🎥 has done a tremendous job standing up against many who have attempted to sell out UK healthcare for their own benefit. Royal College of Physicians will need to have extremely strong justification for this move.

Sick of being called ‘greedy’, Brown line is consultants, way below the zero line, the blue line is average workers, back above zero. Average pay has climbed at about equal rates over last 3 years but consultant pay still nearly 20% down graph (CPI). There’s full tax restoration,

Imagine going through your whole career, reaping its benefits, then condemning those who come after you, despite the fact they face far worse pay, conditions and job prospects. This generation of doctors is standing up and fighting for our profession. Long may it continue. FPR.

It's always weird to see these bizarre claims that the committee is "hard left" or "corbynistas". This is a wave of young people aged typically between 23-35 who see Broken Britain for what it is. Raising rent, raising house prices, raising energy prices, raising leisure

Dr Robert Laurenson (@roblaurensond4p) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The NHS for years gone by and in the upcoming 10 year plan is deliberately pursuing the agenda of de-skilling and "taskifying" the process. The NHS is willfully substituting doctors with generalist skillsets for narrow "trained to task" roles. This inevitably causes additional

"we shouldn't be paying to reverse our own pay cuts". Very well said. Everyone in this country is suffering. The solution can't be to ensure suffering later as well. Doctors are only considering striking because they're desperately looking for reasons to stay

Mark Green (@drvoles) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I'm not a Resident Doctor. I am privileged enough to pay for a cleaner. I pay my cleaner £25 per hour. Resident Doctors are asking for less than that. My cleaner makes my house smell nice. A Resident Doctor will save your life. #Strikehard

If doctors pay had kept up with inflation since 2008, would you be advocating for doctors pay to be cut by 21%? This wouldn’t even be a consideration Wes Streeting Doctors being paid £22.67/hr is not an unreasonable ask. This is still less than our assistants pay.
