I worked with Michael Ellam on financial services when I was a Treasury Minister. He was one of the most outstanding officials in the civil service, universally respected. It is a coup for the UK to have him back in public service.

I’m grateful to my successor for pressing the govt to bring into force my & David Wolfson’s Private Members Act outlawing deliberate public sexual harassment of women, passed with cross party support. Disappointed the govt voted against doing so today. I hope they reconsider in Lords.
