Many of my papers focus on Tau and not Amyloid-beta. But I could not stand not to report that there is an A-beta predominant form of Alzheimer’s without Tau…maybe they have protective genes against tau pathology? academic.oup.com/brain/advance-…

I've noticed a troubling trend among PhD+Postdocs: fear of openly sharing research or seeking help due to worries that it'll lead to co-authorship & stolen credit. This distrust, fueled by toxic leadership/PIs, threatens the essence & collab spirit needed for scientific progress

Recording synaptic minis (mEPSCs)? We have a new paper trying to better understand how recorded datasets match synaptic changes. In short, they don't.. More info and the preprint below:

1/7) New Mechanism (Published Yesterday) on How Ketones Clean a Messy Brain in Alzheimer's Disease 🧐From the paper: "Ketone bodies are janitors of damaged proteins, chaperoning away molecular waste so organisms can operate at peak molecular fitness." I'm going to break it down

We are at ACNP. Please stop by our postdoc posters. Lakshmi (W23) is presenting her recent work on CART peptide and serotonin circuit in anxiet/stress. Louis (W179) is presenting his recent work on subcortical DRN-5HT projecting neurons role in sleep dysregulation in early AD.

While I’m a big fan of new technologies that help us study human biology…there’s still no replacement for animal research! I wrote an article outlining this in Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology News genengnews.com/topics/transla…

Not studying animal models would halt basic neuroscience. We don’t have good AI models of animal brains to study and we can’t study human brains at single spike single neuron resolution. Studying the brain using fMRI is like studying the economy from a telescope on the moon.
