“How do I run when I’m not motivated?” Easy, look at last years results. This is about you and your journey, you are responsible for the outcome. Go be great.

The best athletes I’ve had don’t question training. They are honest on how they feel and believe in what they are told. They also never let outside noise (friends, teammates, random parents, uncles, other coaches) bother them.

Pressure is a privilege. Don’t let the “big” race cause anxiety. Remember you have already achieved more than most athletes could dream. You have the privilege of racing for a championship. Enjoy it.

People complain about the popularity of track, but there are some hard truths we need to look at 1. Why is the sport more popular at the high school level than the pro level? 2. Why is a sport that is well participated at the high school level have so little pro fans?

Festival of Miles proves the my point again. If you want to have a successful track meet you need to focus on the high school athletes. They are the ones putting fans in the stands.
