#COMETS enables computer simulations of multiple species interacting with the environment and each other through competition/exchange of metabolites. This is dictated by resource allocation in organisms, as a function of metabolic stoichiometry encoded in their genomes. 3/6

New #COMETS includes improved biophysics of biomass expansion, evolutionary dynamics, day-night cycles for photosynthesis, extracellular enzymes. Coded in #Java, but easy to run with #Matlab and #Python toolboxes. Compatible with #COBRA tools. Free at runcomets.org 4/6

Great to see the new version of COMETS published. It was really fun getting to collaborate with this team. Ilija Dukovski, Djordje Bajić, Jeremy Chacon, and Mike Quintin did some heavy lifting with lots of support from Korolev lab, Alvaro Sanchez Lab, and segrelab_news.

Thrilled to finally see this out! What a privilege it has been working on this together with segrelab_news, William Harcombe and Korolev lab. Looking forward to developing new functionalities, and to all the exciting new questions that COMETS is going to allow us explore!
