Thanks Katherine McAlpine for highlighting Nature Communications #SyntheticEcology work by Alan Pacheco with @MelisaLKO bit.ly/3wo9s3W Boston University BU Microbiome Initiative

Our comprehensive guide to #COMETS (Computation Of Microbial Ecosystems in Time and Space) is out at Nature Protocols. Read at rdcu.be/czjo9. We hope you will find it useful for #modeling the dynamics of #metabolism in microbial communities. #dFBA #microbiomes. 1/6

#COMETS was made possible by funding from DOE Office of Science. Development of specific functionalities was enabled also by grants from NIH, U.S. National Science Foundation, HFSP and others. 6/6

Very excited to see this out & to explore all the possibilities this new version of COMETS will open. Massive congrats to the amazing Daniel Segrè, Ilija Dukovski Djordje Bajić Jeremy Chacon & Mike Quintin & all other co-authors from BU & William Harcombe. Has been a privilege to work with them.

Great to see the new version of COMETS published. It was really fun getting to collaborate with this team. Ilija Dukovski, Djordje Bajić, Jeremy Chacon, and Mike Quintin did some heavy lifting with lots of support from Korolev lab, Alvaro Sanchez Lab, and segrelab_news.

Thrilled to finally see this out! What a privilege it has been working on this together with segrelab_news, William Harcombe and Korolev lab. Looking forward to developing new functionalities, and to all the exciting new questions that COMETS is going to allow us explore!

New version of COMETS to simulate #microbialCommunities in spatially heterogenous environments using #GEMs of #metabolism. Such a beautiful work from the lab of my former postdoctoral adviser Daniel Segrè!!
