At a cocktail party, if sounds were mixed “properly” in the air, an artificial neural network could understand every individual speech simultaneously :) This idea is useful for improving the inference efficiency of large models.

Congrats to our team! 🎉 This reconstructed cortical circuit is large enough to test the “non-randomness” of connectivity motifs. The wiring in the cortex looks more random than expected.

Write a sentence with "dog, frisbee, catch, throw" 👉Too easy for 7B LM... Will (constrained) text generation (CTG) "die out" like many other NLP tasks, in face of LLM? 👉Excited to introduce 🐕COLLIE, next-gen CTG that even challenges GPT-4! collie-benchmark.github.io (1/n)

Here it is! A huge milestone in neuroscience – the complete connectome of the fly brain from the FlyWire team (FlyWire). In this special issue, we have 9 research articles. I’ll try to summarize them in a couple threads starting here 🧵

Thrilled that our papers mapping and analyzing the connectome of the complete brain adult fruit fly, including our work with "Tony" Runzhe Yang characterizing the network properties of the brain, have been published at nature!

A historic milestone for neuroscience! It's been a fantastic journey for the #FlyWire Consortium. This special edition of Nature showcases the power of open science, with nine papers that not only describe the fly connectome, but also make discoveries using it.
