Incredible to see c4200 Black-tailed Godwit on the flooded watermeadows beside the River Avon on the Dorset/Hampshire border today. Easily the largest flock of them to occur in the Avon Valley for many years. 4 Ruff & 700+ Lapwing also good to see in the area.

The water has FINALLY dropped enough to access our best redshank site, with the redshank champion himself Rupert Brewer! The nests have a 2 inch layer of dry grass in them to keep the eggs nice and dry, what a fantastic species! #conservation
