Malaria remains a significant health issue in many parts of the world, particularly in regions with warm climates where mosquitoes thrive. Efforts to control and prevent malaria continue, but it still affects millions of people annually, especially in sub-Saharan Africa.

Malaria disproportionately affects children under five years old and pregnant women, and it can have devastating effects on communities, economies, and healthcare systems. Efforts to control and eliminate malaria are ongoing but require sustained investment and collaboration.

There are several ways to protect yourself against mosquitoes: 1. Use insect repellent containing DEET, picaridin, or oil of lemon eucalyptus. 2. Wear long sleeves and pants, especially during peak mosquito activity times (dawn and dusk).
