Completed the late June visits for our Owl and Kestrel monitoring on the Martin Down Farmer Supercluster and Waders For Real farmer clusters last weekend. BO breeding stage is more spread out this year, kestrel chicks are fledging and we found a new LO nest site. Thanks for the help Flo Turner!

CRP SG member Dr Samantha Franks summarises insights from the Eastern England Curlew Recovery Project. Headstarting may buy us time to generate solutions and policy for insitu conservation. But, we still do not know where they will recruit yet...

What a brilliant way to introduce lapwing anti-predator behaviour! Well done and thanks for a great talk Guillaume DILLENSEGER #IWSG2023

A brilliant new pilot by Sian Taylor! Finding the culprits for the large number of unknowns often present in wader nest and chick predation studies is so valuable for our knowledge, management and policy #ornithology #IWSG2023

OUR NEW PAPER - 50 yrs of monitoring cereal invertebrates in the Sussex Downs. 37% decline in overall invertebrate abundance but the situation is complex. Increases for 16% of non-overlapping taxa at the order or family level, and no change for 37%. resjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/icβ¦

The water has FINALLY dropped enough to access our best redshank site, with the redshank champion himself Rupert Brewer! The nests have a 2 inch layer of dry grass in them to keep the eggs nice and dry, what a fantastic species! #conservation

We are at the Curlews in crisis Conference this week with 100+ delegates from 30+ organisations and projects. What an opportunity to share knowledge and experiences! We need policymakers to take the lessons from this project and others, support #Curlew for the long-term and at scale.
