We cannot speak of equality while Trinity College Dublin's new maternity leave policy excludes postgraduate researchers, and the gender dimension of precarious work is overlooked. As IFUT noted, Athena Swan has deviated from its stated aims. #PGRsDeserveBetter

Earlier this year as a PhD representative at TCD I was involved in drafting a new policy for PhD maternity leave. Despite our insistence that paid maternity leave be introduced for Trinity funded PhDs who work for the university, this was blocked by dean. This award is a sham.
