Grateful for the mentorship of Hailey Miller Cheryl Himmelfarb @payamsheikhattari, and many others whom I have encountered in my life and showed me the way. Grateful for Hopkins Nursing for the resources and the opportunity to be at this great institution and for selecting for this Honor.

Race and ethnicity impact shared decision-making (SDM) in hypertension control. Effective communication improves BP outcomes, while intimidation and racial discordance hinder SDM. #AHAJournals Yvonne Commodore-Mensah, PhD, MHS, RN Binu Koirala, PhD, MGS, RN, FAAN, FPCNA Sarah Slone Samuel Byiringiro Jill Marsteller ahajrnls.org/4fgsQa9

Pleased to have co-authored this comment The Lancet Respiratory Medicine and being involvemed in this commission!

Check out our latest article “Engagement in Hypertension and Diabetes Clinical Trials at FQHCs” JAMA Network Open. We found that most FQHCs participate at lower levels, and greater staffing of physicians and patient education specialists is linked to higher levels of engagement.
