#SCADMOA is ecstatic to announce the upcoming opening of our Fall '24 exhibitions, starting with the first museum exhibition of George Clinton’s fine art. “Cloaked in a Cloud, Disguised in the Sky” opens Sept. 26 and is organized by chief curator of the SCADMOA, Daniel S. Palmer.

For one of #SCADMOA’s newest exhibitions “Arboretum,” artist collaborators Jiten Thukral and Sumir Tagra contemplate the intersection of the digital and natural worlds through paintings carefully rendered by both artists over a period of months.

Thukral and Tagra have been creating work together for more than 25 years. For their #SCADMOA exhibition “Arboretum,” the duo presents a series of works incorporating analog representations of pixels and glitches.

Anthony Olubunmi Akinbola is a first-generation American of Nigerian descent, raised in both the U.S. and Nigeria. Here, he stands in front of ‘Sunday’s Best’, one of three new works presented on the occasion of his #SCADMOA solo exhibition entitled “Good Hair.”

Anthony Akinbola’s “The Price of Oil” presents thousands of products commonly associated with Black hair care, including hair grease, relaxer, and pomade on oversized retail shelving. Commissioned by #SCADMOA with generous contributions from Imperial DAX and Murray’s.

The SCAD community mourns the passing of beloved author and friend Tina McElroy Ansa. Tina’s support of #SCAD extended to #SCADMOA, where she proudly showcased her collection of paintings by the late artist Ana Bel Washington in the spring 2023 exhibition “Rejoice!”
