On Aug. 1, we’re hosting Dasia Day to celebrate Dasia Taylor. She's an Iowan who invented an infection-detecting medical suture prototype when she was just 17 years old. This incredible STEAM advocate is sharing her birthday with SCI for a day of fun, giveaways and learning.

Since 2019, our SCI beehive has been hard at work making honey and educating visitors on conservation. Their outdoor space also houses a demonstration garden — which the bees pollinate to help produce food for the other creatures living at SCI.

It’s hard to believe there are only a few weeks left of SCI summer camps! We’ve had such a great time learning about chemical reactions, robot technology and veterinary medicine (just to name a few topics).
