We’re excited to spotlight TuYo Theatre as part of the first iteration of Impact funding initiative. Their work amplifies the voices of street vendors and highlights the experiences of Latinx and immigrant communities in San Diego. Stay tuned for more Impact stories.

The AjA Project, a recipient of Impact funding, is partnering with Fatuma Fadhil (UMA Collection) to activate City Heights with a new storefront. It will host exhibitions, workshops, and events on gentrification, borders, and immigration.

We’re kicking off International Sculpture Day with Capacity by Reinhart Revilla Selvik. This sculpture explores power dynamics and barricades, urging reflection on architecture, memory, and power in public spaces.

On Day 2, we feature Fountain Mountain by Roman de Salvo. This interactive sculpture, located at Mission Trails Regional Park, combines water, stone, and trails, connecting visitors to the land's history and natural beauty.

Today, we highlight Jazz Guitar by Ed Dwight. This sculpture celebrates the spirit of jazz music by capturing the energy and creativity of a guitarist, honoring jazz as a vital cultural contribution to American life.

On Day 4, we feature Crumpled Carpet by Jean Lowe. This piece challenges the boundaries between craft and high art, using the symbol of a rug to explore cultural patterns, wear, and the object’s role in domestic life.

Today’s sculpture, ¿Where is He? by Beliz Iristay, juxtaposes traditional Muslim calligraphy with mass-manufactured porcelain, exploring the intersection of culture, tradition, and mass production in a globalized world.

For #ISDay, we present Primary Waveform (half circle) by Kelsey Brookes. This sculpture blends science and art, inspired by the Fibonacci sequence and natural waveforms, creating a unique interplay of logic and creativity.
