Extremely proud of our Systems_Immunology_WIS member lab Ziv Shulman Lab for their fascinating study nature decoding the local nasal immune response and related niches in response to nasal vaccination- way to go guys, this is immunology at its best!! nature.com/articles/s4158β¦

Part 1 of our venture into the world of alternative translation-linked proteoforms! (Now Dr) Paul Lee, Yu Sun, along w/Alexa Soares and others in Marina Picciotto lab found that alternative TIS pairs change the localization and functions of synaptic organizers! authors.elsevier.com/a/1jpc73vVUPRmβ¦

Our paper out today @nature: phages reconstitute NAD+ to counter bacterial immunity Phaged invented a new biochemical pathway for NAD+ synthesis - including previously unknown enzymatic reactions - to evade bacterial defenses Congrats Ilya Osterman! nature.com/articles/s4158β¦

New π in NatureStructMolBiol - "Structural features within the NORAD long noncoding RNA underlie efficient repression of Pumilio activity", by Sveta in my lab, Omer Ziv Eric Miska and Lau and Greg Kudla lab. Been a while since preprint, so a 𧡠nature.com/articles/s4159β¦

We are excited to share our latest research, a joint effort between the Hennig group at EMBL Heidelberg and the Castello Lab at MRC-Uni of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research . Weβve uncovered the key residues for the RNA binding of TRIM25, which plays a key role in its antiviral activity. π nature.com/articles/s4146β¦

I am excited to co-organize Keystone Symposia #RNA Mediated Regulation of #Immunity: Mechanisms, Disease and Therapeutics, this January. Its a great opportunity for the RNA and immunology communities to meet and discuss recent advances. Deadlines are approaching, please join us!

We discovered a new immune signaling molecule: N7-cADPR N7-cADPR is produced by phage-stimulated TIR proteins. It activates a bacterial caspase, which then degrades essential proteins to curb infection Preprint: biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh⦠Congrats @FrancoisRousset & Ilya Osterman

New lab π° in Nucleic Acids Res, the 2nd paper of star postdoc Sveta Farberov. A tour-de-force into how we can use MPRAs to understand binding-function landscape for RBPs. We address the following Qs: academic.oup.com/nar/advance-arβ¦

Excited to announce the 2025 Nucleic Acid Tx meeting - on 5/2/25 Weizmann Institute (a re-incarnation of an RNA Tx meeting in 2023). Great speakers from academia/industry.
