Read about our 2 newest NAE members, the Ohio State Innovator of the Year, 6 members of the Class of 2024 & more in the spring e-issue of #BuckeyeEngineering. Available online: news.engineering.osu.edu/be/issue45/be4…

Dravet syndrome, a congenital epileptic disorder is assoc w/ high risk of SUDEP. This involves the remodeling of NaV 1.6 within cardiac T-tubules that serve as a substrate for calcium-mediated arrhythmias. bit.ly/3KtZzux #JACCCEP The Weinberg Lab Nanocardiology Lab Hund Lab

Congrats to Seth Weinberg for being named a Fellow of the American Heart Association Association for his research and contributions in the interdisciplinary field of computational physiology, with focus on cardiac electrophysiology and arrhythmias 🫀 More here: go.osu.edu/CrUP

$26M in federal funding announced today will support creation of an U.S. National Science Foundation Engineering Research Center at Ohio State to jumpstart natural rubber production in the US & enhance workforce development to fuel the domestic industry. @OSUEngineering Ohio State - CFAES bit.ly/3yZ5Fki

Umit Ozkan of Ohio State is the 2024 recipient of AIChE's Margaret H. Rousseau Award in recognition of her work bridging heterogeneous #catalysis and #electrocatalysis and for her outstanding work as teacher and mentor. bit.ly/486AG2W

Congratulations to 3 teams from @ohiostatemed & @osuengineering receiving funding from the Center for Medical and Engineering Innovation to fund cross-college collaborations! CC: Megan Ballinger Aleks Skardal Michelle Nassal Saurabh Rajpal medicine.osu.edu/departments/cm…

Great thread from Nick Moise on his recent work modeling atrial fibrillation. "AF begets AF" - Nick developed a framework to model this progression from healthy to disease tissue, coupling the electrical activity and substrate remodeling, a complex multi-time scale problem!

Hirway et al. developed a multicellular computation model to investigate tumor microenvironment remodeling and pre-metastatic niche formation. OhioStateBME OSUengineering The Weinberg Lab link.springer.com/article/10.100…

New study provides valuable insights into age-dependent changes in human cardiac gene expression & #electrophysiology, shedding light on molecular mechanisms underlying cardiac maturation and function throughout development. ow.ly/i0Cw50Uutly Nikki Gillum Posnack The Weinberg Lab

NSF is awarding CyberCorps Scholarship for Service grants to 4 academic institutions with an investment of nearly $15M toward training the next generation of cybersecurity professionals. Congratulations to @WSU, Iowa State University, George Mason University and Ohio State. bit.ly/4gNM8Up
