Polycomb proteins translate histone methylation to chromatin folding biorxiv.org/content/10.110… Interesting new model to explain chromatin compaction by PRC1!

Does anyone have suggestions of conferences for (human) genomics and/or data science in the Boston area? Feel free to reply or DM. #datascience #computationalbiology #boston #cambridge #genomics

ITS OUT! MY FIRST PUBLISHED PEER REVIEWED PAPER! THANK YOU SO MUCH TO Doris Wagner AND Thomas Roule FOR HELPING MAKE THIS HAPPEN. Want to remove ChIP-seq artifacts from ChIP-seq data from a species without a published blacklist and without installing a new software? Check it!

Want to 'clean' (noise/artifact removal, true peaks enrichment) your ChIPseq data? ➡️ Please check the greenscreen method; easy to use, and adaptable to any species 📕▶️ doi.org/10.1093/plcell…. Shoutout Sammy Samantha Klasfeld -- open to work and Doris Doris Wagner 🥳🥂👏!

“Our results highlight the need for moving away from discrete genetic ancestry clusters towards the continuum of genetic ancestries when considering PGS and their applications.”

I am so excited by the talks from Human Heredity and Health in Africa. We have so much to learn from the continent where humanity began. #ashg22 #consent #humangenome #datacollection #blacklivesmatter #africanscientists #precisionmedicine

One of my favorite talks! The next debate will be how to best measure genetic distance between training sets and patients and how to best translate these metrics from scientist to clinician to patient. #ASHG22 #PRS

For genomics to maximize its impact on medicine, the field must engage people from all communities, embrace all definitions of diversity, and ensure that everyone benefits from advances in genomics. This includes developing a more #diversegenomicsworkforce.

My dear Biologist colleague, solely stating that “Statistical analysis were done in R” is NOT a sufficient description of the bioinformatics Methods of your paper, as just saying “experiments were performed in a lab” would not be of the experimental Material and Methods

All postdocs in my lab are paid in the range of 85-95K. One of the reasons I can't go beyond is (reverse) equity concerns from HR. I would ideally pay them 105-115K. I think that's how much I could afford based on funding I can pull in & reducing lab size to a functional minimum.

Is having even more gene-disease associations still useful for picking drug targets? For which types of programs does it matter? Has pharma shifted focus towards genetically validated targets? New paper by me, Matt Nelson, Coco (Chengliang) Dong, & Jeffery Painter doi.org/10.1101/2023.0…👇

For tomorrow's American Society of Human Genetics meeting I have the opportunity to present my poster on the genetic architecture of rare disease. Meet me at Board no. PB4674 (Thurs. 3PM-5PM). I look forward to great conversations! #ASHG2023
