Today was Alex and Gus’s last race in a SLUH uniform. They both rewrote the XC/TF record books, earned All-State in both sports, and were senior team captains both seasons this year. set huge goals for the State Meet, and met them.

They both provided endless mentorship, guidance, and leadership to the younger athletes in our program, and we are better for everything they’ve given us! Thank you Alex and Gus!

Last year, the Jr Bills scored one point at the State Meet. This year, our six competing athletes scored 21 points, and finished 11 of 64 represented teams. Such a one-year swing is only possible due to the dedication and drive of all 106 members of our 2025 team. Congrats all!

Tonight we proudly celebrate 100 years of SLUH Track & Field, 80 years of SLUH Cross Country, and the retirement of SLUH legend Jim Linhares. For 42 years, Linhares has made a lasting, indelible mark on SLUH as a Hall of Fame coach, passionate teacher and inspirational leader.
